April 9, 2025: Our paper "Wonders of Harbor and Grey Seal Whiskers: Morphology, Natural Frequencies, and 3D Modeling" was accepted by Advanced Science.
March 15, 2025: We submitted one workshop proposal on Biomimetic Perception in Robotics: From Biological Insights to Advanced Sensor Systems to IROS 2025, which will be held in Hangzhou, China from October 19-25, 2025. We have invited six professors to discuss the latest research progress on biomimetic perception in robotics.
March 7, 2025: Our paper "An Interpretable Approach to Estimate the Self-motion in Fish-like Robots Using Mode Decomposition Analysis" was accepted by Nature Communications.
February 27, 2025: Xingwen Zheng was appointed Youth Editorial Board Member of Biomimetic Intelligence and Robotics Journal.
October 18, 2024: Our paper "Reticular origami soft robotic gripper for shape-adaptive and rapid grasping" was selected as the Cover of the journal Soft Robotics.
August 1, 2024: The paper "Wavy Whiskers in Phocid Seals Exhibit High Signal-To-Noise in Sensing Hydrodynamic Flows," co-authored by Xingwen Zheng, Amar Kamat, Ming Cao, Michael Triantafyllou, and Ajay Kottapalli, was accepted by IEEE International Conference on Cyborg and Bionic Systems (IEEE CBS), Nagoya, Japan.
July 29, 2024: The paper "Octopus-Inspired Underwater Soft Robotic Gripper with Crawling and Swimming Capabilities," co-authored by Prof. Guangming Xie, Dr. Mingxin Wu, et al., was accepted by Science Partner Journal Research.
July 5, 2024: Xingwen Zheng was appointed Youth Editorial Board Member of Soft Science Journal.
April 28, 2024: Xingwen Zheng was appointed Youth Editorial Board Member of Advanced Bionics Journal.
April 25, 2024: The paper "A 3D-Printed Centimeter-Scale Pneumatically Actuated Robotic Manipulator for Micro-Manipulations. International Conference on Manipulation, Automation and Robotics at Small Scales (MARSS), 2024," co-authored by Xingwen Zheng and Professor Fumihito Arai from the University of Tokyo, was nominated the Best Application Paper by MARSS 2024, Delft, The Netherlands.
March 1, 2024: Xingwen Zheng joined the College of Control Science and Engineering at Zhejiang University as a ZJU-100 Young Professor.
